Los Angeles Zoo 031910
For this shoot I used the D700 and the AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8 VR I. I had with me the TC-14E II and monopod, but did not use them.
This was a very difficult shoot, because of the time of day. All the animals were "hiding" and the ones in the open were not colorful enough to distinguish them from the background. If that was not bad enough, I went on a Friday to avoid the crowds. I did not figure that there was a Los Angeles School District field trip day - a sea of grammar school children. The were extremely well behaved - Incredible when one thinks about it. However, they were close to a thousand or more. In addition, a lot of exhibits are closed due to major renovations. I'm a member of the LA Zoo; there will be other opportunities.
